@natgeo photo by @stevewinterphoto @natgeo It’s tempting, it looks awesome, it’s too cute but it is WRONG! This is a photo from my December 2019 @natgeo magazine story on captive tigers in the USA 🇺🇸 there are thousands of operations across the country that profiteer from selfies with tigers but this is wrong and unethical. These animals can never be released into the wild because they have human imprinting - they are not fearful of people. What’s more is that some cub petting operations are linked to the illegal wildlife trade and even traditional medicine markets. Supporting places like the one in this image is not cool and taking selfies with tiger or lion cubs does great harm to the lives of these animals 🐯 follow me @stevewinterphoto for more big cat stories 🦁 . . . . . #tiger #wildlifeabuse #animalabuse #tigers #bigcat #selfienation🤳
